Mary Sloan Andrews, 57, died peacefully at home on her farm in Piedmont, SC on February 7, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones.

A native of Greenville, SC, she was the youngest daughter of the late John L. and Helen M. Sloan.

Mary spent her career as an occupational therapist and found her passion working with special needs children in the Greenville County School District and retired with over 26 years of service.

Mary lived life to the fullest. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, riding her horses, being outside on her beautiful farm, sewing, and finding a bargain.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Richard F. “Richie” Andrews, Jr.; three adoring daughters, Blakely A. Amati, M.D. (Nick), Martha A. “Molly” Grigsby (Luke), and Mary E. “Betsy” Andrews; precious grandsons, Martin R. and Henry N. Amati; and devoted siblings, Helen E. “Libba” Sloan, M.D. (Andy Selcer), Jane S. Cooper (John Hughes Cooper), and John L. Sloan, Jr., M.D. (Kayla).

In addition to her parents, a brother, David M. Sloan, M.D., precedes Mary in death.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the church parlor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hungars Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 367, Eastville, VA 23347.
