Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Rachel Callaway can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Rachel Sue Callaway (Bagwell)

Rachel Sue Callaway, 80, of Travelers Rest went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday,
February 25th.

She was an amazingly loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She
taught us all so much, and gave us never-ending love. She worked as a seamstress at Stone
Manufacturing.

She was born in Pickens County, SC on August 16th, 1934. She was the daughter of the late
Agnes Lee and Oscar Bagwell. Along with her parents she was predeceased by a sister Mary
Iris Bagwell, and a granddaughter, Megan C. Warren.

She is survived by a husband, Worthy P. Callaway. Two sisters: Ellen Cool of Travelers Rest,
and Gayla Burnett of Marietta. Two children: A son, Timothy P. Callaway and his special
friend Tara Hermans of Piedmont, and a daughter, Violet Callaway Barrett and her husband Bill
Barrett of Travelers Rest. Three Grandchildren: Margaret Denise Eggert and her husband
Michael J. Eggert II of Travelers Rest, Mitchell Callaway of Greenville, and Steven Wayne
Callaway and his wife Kaitlin Gail Callaway of Wellford. Two great-grandchildren: Ashton
and Zackary Eggert of Travelers Rest.

The Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at North Fork Baptist Church, with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family, care of Palmetto Mortuary.

The family will be at the Callaway home after services.
