Obituary for George Ellis Barnett Jr.
George Ellis Barnett, Jr., 52, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015.
Ellis was born in Clinton and was a son of George Ellis “Jimmy” Barnett, Sr., and the late Margaret Barnett Brewington.
He is survived by his son, Christian Ellis Barnett, of Easley; his brother, Dean Barnett, of Clinton; his sister, Laura Barnett, of Clinton; his step-father, Lewis Brewington; his grandmother, Loree Lawson; and his life-long friend, Tonya Price Donnan.
Ellis loved car racing, and enjoyed going to Laurens Speedway. He also loved watching NASCAR on television, and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, and had collected many Earnhardt mementos for his son, Chris.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Boyce Lawson; and his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and James “Jim” Barnett.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Lydia Mill Church of God at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lydia Mill Church of God, PO Box 882, Clinton, SC 29325.
