Mary Margaret McDowell, October 15, 1954—May 19, 2015. She is the daughter of Raphael Collins McDowell, Jr. and Margaret Ann Jones McDowell. She is survived by her daughter Mariah Windt, son-in-law Jeffrey Windt, grandchildren Jonah and Elijah Windt of Greenville, SC; her sister Rita Anne McDowell-Copaus of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother Raphael McDowell of Ashville, NC; and her nephews Star McDowell, Rivers McDowell, and David Morningsky McDowell, also of Asheville, NC.

Friday, May 22 at 9:00 AM there will be a Graveside Service at Taylors First Baptist Church cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. The family will receive visitors in the sanctuary following the service.

With deepest sorrow we mourn the loss of this sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and church family member. Among the countless things we remember about her are her perpetual kindness, her loving spirit, and her constant willingness to sacrificially serve those around her in any way she could. Mary Margaret will be missed dearly by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

But we also rejoice in the midst of our grief that this will not be the last time we see Mary Margaret. We rejoice to know that she is in the presence of her dear Savior. We know even in our grief the blessedness of the divine love and redeeming blood which has redeemed her. “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15.

Those closest to her also know what a sweet and beautiful singing voice Mary Margaret had. What a joy it is to think that that sweet voice has been added to the heavenly choirs even now, singing the praises of her blessed Redeemer. “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13.
