Obituary for Marie Helen Porter (Smith)
"Marie Smith Porter, 83, of Six Mile, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Marie retired from the textile industry.
She will be remembered for her passionate love of her family and the children she took care of.
Marie was a long time member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Six Mile.
She is survived by her son, Scott Porter; her daughter, Sandy (Jeff) Couch; her siblings, Bryan Smith, Wallace (Emily) Smith, Carlos (Judy) Smith, Mable Moss, Jeanette Thomas, and Eloise Pitts; her five grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Sam Porter; her siblings, Howard Smith and Wilhemenia Allsep; and her parents, Elmer and Selma Holladay Smith.
The visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 am at Mountain View Baptist Church, Six Mile, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes."
