Obituary for Virginia Stevenson Coon
Virginia Stevenson Coon, 92, of Georgetown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August, 3, 2015.
She was a schoolteacher for many years, and a prominent member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church, where she was the wedding and funeral director, served numerous terms as a church Elder, and was the chairperson of the worship committee for many years. She was also an honorary life member of Presbyterian Women, associate member of the Georgetown Garden Club, and a friend of the Georgetown County Library.
She is survived by her children, Kevin D. Coon and Allison C. Jones (Daniel A. Jones); her sister, Louise S. Thomas; and her grandchildren, Brendan L. Jones and Spencer C. Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Coon, Jr.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Virginia’s name to Georgetown Presbyterian Church
