Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Stephen McMahan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Stephen Don  McMahan
Stephen Don McMahan left to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 8, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty five years, Cheryl Wood McMahan, a daughter, Jessica McMahan and her fiancé, Brian Dobson, a son, Reese McMahan and his wife, Haley.

Don was an employee of the Greenville Hospital System for thirty five years. He began his career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, adding the title of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist along the way. In 2013, Don earned his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Clemson University. At the time of his death, Don was the Manager of Respiratory Care, Diagnostic and Interventional Services at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The family would like to thank Don's extended GHS work family for their many acts of kindness during this difficult time, Dr. William Edenfield, Joe Castillo and the staff at the GHS Cancer Institute, and the caring, compassionate staff of Homestead Hospice who made Don's last days as comfortable as possible.

An Affirmation of Life will be held for Don on Friday, November 13, 2015 in the Chapel of the Palmetto Mortuary, located at 1313 A Miller Rd. Greenville, SC, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial be made to the GHS Office of Philanthropy & Partnership, 300 E. McBee Ave. Suite 503, Greenville, SC 29601 or to a charity of your choice.
