Obituary for Frank Gilliard Allison Sr.

Frank Gilliard Allison, Sr., 82, of Greenville, husband of Sara Fulmer Allison, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home.

Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of the late Junius Howard Allison and Sarah Gaston Allison.

He attended Furman University and was a buyer for Dillard's (formerly Ivey's). He was a member of the Greenville Jaycees. He was also a buyer for May Cohens in Jacksonville, FL, and owned Manicure Lawn and Irrigation Services, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. He was employed by Carolina Pet Center for 11 years.

Frank proudly served his county in the US Navy during the Korean conflict.

He was a Scout Master and a Sunday School teacher for 10 year old boys for many years, and was a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, he is survived by his sons Frank G. Allison, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Greensboro, NC; John Russell Allison and wife, Sonja, of Palatka, FL; Richard Howard Allison and wife, Mary, of Jacksonville, FL; Marshall Scott Allison, and wife Jerri, of Columbia, SC; and Kyle Scott Allison of Greenville, SC; his four grandsons; two granddaughters; six step-grandsons; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; his two sisters, Loretta Allison Gay and Katherine Allison Kerns; his two brothers, Lewis Allison and William Allison; and family friend, Janice Haney Allison

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, J.H. Allison, Gene Allison, and Joseph Marshall Allison.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank's name may be made to the American Heart Association or Cancer Centers of America.
