Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wolfgang Nestlen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Wolfgang Kurt Nestlen

Wolfgang Kurt  Nestlen
Wolfgang Kurt Nestlen, 76, of Inman, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2016. He passed away at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family.

Born January 11, 1940 in Kornwestheim, Germany, he was the son of Kurt Nestlen and Mina Kuhn Nestlen.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Kunigunde Geiger Nestlen and two children Yasmin Nestlen Borain, her husband Andrew, and Homer Kurt Nestlen, his wife Charlianne, as well as three lovely grand children Caden, Vaughan and Wyatt. He also leaves behind an older sister Dorothea Nestlen Aigner and her two children Thorsten and Gabriele living in Germany.

Most of his life Wolfgang worked in the textile industry. He immigrated from Germany with his wife in 1968 to Spartanburg, SC where his first job was with Butte Knitting Mills, Spartanburg, SC. His last two jobs were with Consultex Corporation and Consultex System, Spartanburg, SC as Textile Project Engineer. He retired in January 2007.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8th, 10:30-11:45AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The funeral service will follow at 12PM in the sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Emily Edenfield. The burial will take place immediately after the service at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
