Obituary for Ethel Virginia Stubbs

Ethel Virginia Stubbs (92), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed
away peacefully August 30, 2018 in Collegedale TN. Virginia was born on July 9, 1926 in
Knoxville, TN. Virginia married Lewis Stubbs in 1947. Shortly thereafter they moved from
Washington, DC, to Boston MA. In 1957, with 5 children they moved to Orlando, FL. After 18
years in central Florida they retired in Westminster, SC. Lewis and Virginia were married 69
years before Lewis passed in 2016.
Virginia loved doing social work, gardening, sewing and playing the piano. Above all, she
cherished her family and worked unceasingly to keep her family close. She will be remembered
for her heart of gold and smiling countenance, whatever the circumstances in her life. Virginia
also had an unwavering faith in God. She leaves behind 3 children, George Stubbs, Carol Smith
and Henry Stubbs, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A private funeral service was held with the family and friends on September 1, 2018 at the
Westminster Seventh Day Adventist church.
