Obituary for James Jay Kelsey

James Jay Kelsey
(Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo)
Lived a loving peaceful Life with Mary Jane Chavis Kelsey at 268 Love and Care Road, Six Mile, SC. He was born August 8, 1952 in Richland county, Columbia SC. At Fort Jackson, U.S Army hospital. On October 25, 2017 he continued on his journey.
Jim was the second eldest of six children, Chuck Kelsey, James Kelsey, Lyle Kelsey, Rhea Kelsey, MaryLouis Kelsey and Ford (Skip) Kelsey.
He was the kindest and most loving father, husband, uncle, son, brother and friend any one could ask for. Spending time with his family and friends was always the most important thing to him. He effortlessly made the people around him laugh and smile. He helped every single person he met to grow and blossom, enriching so many lives with just his smile, love and amazing personality. He was the most open, non judgemental person you would ever meet, no matter your mistake. For he loved openly and with all his heart.
His passion was creating delicious foods, always in the kitchen preparing tasty meals for both those he knew and loved, as well as those he barely knew at all. At any given time he could also be found tinkering in his work shed, creating beautiful and unique pieces of art or flittering around his many flower gardens, tending his beautiful plants. Offering those plants for anyone who may want one.
He was and is so very loved and cherished by everyone who knew him. Jim will forever be with us and in our hearts, living on through our memories.
James Kelsey was predeceased by his Father, Charles Jay Kelsey and his Mother Virginia Astelle Goodell. Also his younger brothers Lyle Richard Kelsey and Ford (Skip) Kelsey.
He is survived by his four daughters, Shannon Kelsey, Amber Martinez, Darcie Harris and Kayla Kelsey. Also his oldest brother Charles Edmund Kelsey and his two younger sisters Rhea Virginia Kelsey Jones and MaryLouis Ruth Kelsey Schott. He left behind eight nephews, and two niece's, Raymond Schott, William Schott, Charles Kelsey, Christine Attenhoffer, Christopher Kelsey, Jeffrey Jones, Jason Jones, Jennifer Muzzy, Thomas Kelsey and Joshua Kelsey. His life partner Mary Jane Chavis Kelsey and her children who James accepted without hesitation, Melissa Smith (Bryan), Joey Sanford (Amy), and Angie Chavis.
Jim was a patient loving grandfather to Logan Martinez, Andres Sanchez, Rylee Medlin, Jason Smith (Hazel), Joseph Sanford (Taylor), and Jaimie Brunner (Tim) and great grandfather to Kira and Kassi Smith, Greyson Brunner, and Raven Sanford who will also miss him dearly.
May he always fly free..
