Obituary for Norman Joel Hill

Norman Joel Hill
Norman Hill, 69, of Simpsonville, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 29th, 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Ursula Hill; his adoring daughter, Samantha Blackman and Kirsten Hill; and his grandchildren, Teddy and Violet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Marjorie (Dunn) Hill.
He was born in Lookout, Pennsylvania. He enthusiastically enlisted in the military, even searching for a city that would look passed his poor knees. He spent 13 years in the Army in Korea, Germany, and Italy. He enjoyed his time spent as a Broadcaster, particularly with the AFN in Frankfurt, Germany. After his time in the military, he and Ursula settled in Wilkes-Barre to raise their only daughter, Samantha. They then moved to Simpsonville, SC where Norman would plant every flower from Lowes to fill his time when Ursula was stricken with her MS. However, she always found time to play the piano for him, but if she was busy with the grandkids he listened to oldies on his Ipod. His only other love was his convertible which he changed its color more often than most women change their hair. The last few years were filled with happy visits from his grandchildren.
Services will be held at 5:30 on November 2, 2017 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville, 29607.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
