Doris Malone Bowlds, 88, of Merrillville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4th, 2018.
She is survived by her step children, Barry Bowlds, Terri Lyman (Myron), and Gary Bowlds; her step grandchildren, Justin Bowlds (Tanya), Jessica Ramos (Eric), Jasmine and Julie Bowlds, Jason Bowlds, Carter, Kennedy, and Madison Lyman, Harrison and Taylor Correa; and Kiana Bowlds.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Earl Bowlds; stepson, Cary Bowlds; and cousin, Charles Lewis.
Music was her absolute passion. She never tired of it, even after dedicating 30 years to teaching music. She particularly loved jazz and playing her piano. One of favorite trips was to Chicago to hear the music at Christ Universal Temple. She and her husband Charles loved to travel the United States. Doris continued her travels to every continent except Antarctica with her girlfriends. She also loved her Ohio State Buckeyes football. Charles and Doris traveled to see them play football whenever possible.
