Obituary for Dorothy Jean O'Shields

Dorothy Jean O'Shields
Dorothy Clardy O'Shields (Widener), 72, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Hall; her son, Randy Clardy; grandchildren, Kayla Maria Soulsby and Regina Elise Hall; and great grandchildren, John Bryce Costner and Hunter Matthew Costner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman O'Shields; and her parents, Ernest Roosevelt Widener and Airetta E. Vanhoose.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered as a kind hearted nursing aide in multiple nursing homes in the Greenville area.

She left us a poem she wrote herself:
I Did Not Die
In life, we're never quite ready to say that last "Goodbye," so listen now as I state the truth; I've changed, but I did not die! I don't need that tired, worn body for I've changed like the butterfly. And now I'm in my Heavenly home that wondrous place in the sky! Jesus was faithful in his promise and he promised I would live again. My day has now been made complete and my peace, you can't understand. So don't stand at my grave and weep. Instead, wipe that tear from your eye. And know how much I still love you, know in your heart I did not die!

The Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park 7 Duncan Road Travelers Rest, South Carolina 29690 on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
