Obituary for James Jon Swindler

James Swindler, 55, of Greenville, formally Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away April 15th, 2018.
He is survived by his fiance, Kimberly Banish; his son, Jon Swindler (Brittany); his daughter, Kendra Ledlow (Justin); siblings; Judi Smith and Sandy Ingraham; and his fur babies, Chloe and Cosmo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Joanne Swindler; and Jacquie Huls.
Jim dedicated his life to the service of others as an Eagle Scout and in his career with A Child's Haven. As an Eagle Scout, he achieved the honor of becoming a Scout Master for troop 576. His son, Jon's childhood, was filled with activities with the scouts. Which explains his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and gardening. His garden was filled with tomatoes, corn, and peppers. He continued his love of the outdoors with his fiance, Kimberly, as they often visited Litchfield by the Sea. He and his daughter shared their love of animals which led Kendra to her career as a veterinarian technician and shelter manager at Good Mews Animal Foundation.
He concluded his working career with A Child's Haven. He was the transportation director of a wonderful non-profit organization helping the education of disadvantaged children in Greenville, SC. He and his colleagues developed a strong friendship as they worked toward the betterment of the children they served.
Jim was well loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
The Celebration of Life will be at Victoria Bryant State Park 1105 Bryant Park Road Picnic Shelter 3, Royston, Georgia 30662 on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
