Obituary for Ronald Fink

Ronald Albert Fink, 84, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Imogene, as well as three children, Stephen of Carmel, NY, Larry (Lisa) of Palm Coast, FL, Alison (Ken) of Greer, SC as well as five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
A longtime resident of Briarcliff Manor, New York, he was a career electrician in the IBEW Local Union 501, a member of the Briarcliff Fire Department for many years and a Mason in Pleasantville Lodge where he served as the Master in 1967. Ron was known to many as their mentor in the electrical field, and he worked on many impressive construction projects including the original Tappan Zee Bridge in Tarrytown, NY, the Indian Point Nuclear Reactor in Croton, NY, and notably as the String Light Engineer of the “Tree Streets Annual Block Party” in Briarcliff.
Following a successful career in NY, Ron and Imogene retired and became full-timers in their beloved 36-foot Airstream, travelling throughout North America for over 17 years, making lifelong friends along the way. Ron devoted endless hours tackling home improvement projects while visiting each of his three children, and lovingly became known as Poppy to his five grandchildren. Settling in Simpsonville, SC, Ron enjoyed exploring the many fishing lakes in the area, the mountain region, and served on the HOA Board of his community.
Throughout his life, he maintained many lifelong friendships from his childhood, through decades in Briarcliff, his Airstream years and his new South Carolina friends. His can-do spirit and generous heart will leave a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.thepalmettomortuary.com.
