Obituary for Klaus Dieter Wustrow

Klaus Dieter  Wustrow
Klaus Dieter Wustrow, age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, SC.

Born in Parchim, Germany on May 11, 1940, son of the late Albert Christian Wustrow and the late Barbara Fahrig Wustrow.

He received a masters degree in textile engineering from Neumunster University in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1963 and became an expert in the field of knitting. He gave many lectures at NC State, Clemson, and other institutions, plus wrote articles for the Knitting Times Magazine. His legacy will be carried on through his many accomplishments.

He is survived by Elaine Wustrow, his loving wife of 46 years. Also survived by three sons, Andrew Keith Payne, Klaus Dieter Wustrow Jr., and Kristofer Karlton Wustrow; three grandchildren, Killian Wustrow, Parker Payne and Payton Payne; two sisters, Hannelore Hirdes of Braunschweig, Germany and Barbara Ammann, of Augsburg, Germany; two nephews, Achim Hirdes of Braunschweig, Germany and Dirk Ammann, of Augsburg, Germany; and one niece, Bettina Ammann, of Augsburg, Germany.

A Memorial Service will be held in celebration of Klaus' life on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 3:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior at 2:00 pm, at Palmetto Mortuary at 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC.

We thank God for the time we shared with him. The world is less without him here, and he will be missed dearly.
