Condolence From: Mara Ann Chamblin Leverett
Condolence: I'm one of Jimmy's cousins, I'm younger than him, but I always remember him riding motorbikes with our other cousin Jimmy. I spent a lot of time at Aunt Irene's house and Jimmy would come and go - always kidding around with my sister and I - we thought it was great fun. We just adored him because he paid attention to us. As time went on, I adored Linda and Debbie and Scott. They meant so much to him and it was obvious that he adored them. I will always have fond memories of Jimmy. He will be missed greatly. Warm thoughts to Linda, Debbie, Scott, his sister Sandra and the rest of the family in your time of grief.

Condolence: I want to thank everyone who has written about the man that was evidently a good friend and someone who people enjoyed being around. The man I knew had a wife of 55 years and a life time of friends, not to mention the family that he cherished. He sure did LOVE all of YOU because that is one thing he always told me was, Son,treat people the way you want to be treated and you will have a friend for life, and you know what,l can see he was right; love you DADDY!

Condolence: I remember those Bigelow days. We worked together for many years and Jim and I were always the best of co-workers. He always told me on Monday mornings what he had found at the "jockey lot" or "yard sales." He was a great friend. My prayers are with you all.

Condolence: I have fond memories of Jimmy going all the way back to elementary school at Donaldson Elementary School and then on to Greenville Junior High and Greenville Senior High. I have fond memories of spending many nights during that time in their home as well as mine. Cutting through the yards we did not live but three or four hundred yards apart. Some of my fondest meomories are of when he and I would go down to his grandparents home in Prosperity and we would go fishing on Lake Murray. My fondest memory of Jimmy comes from a few years ago before the alzheimer's got so terribly bad, I picked him up and we drove over to Pete's on Augusta for a hot dog and then drove all around the Lewis Plaza area which was as you say our old stomping grounds. As we drove he was still able to recall the homes of several of our school friends such as Russian Miller on Conestee, Gensie Bullock on Keowee, Carolyn McCullers on Faris, Henry Ramsuer on Prentice and our days at Augusta Road Baptist Church. We drove by both our home places and we both had a lot of memories there also. Guess seeing those places help to trigger those memories for him and I am so happy to have been a part of it. We all will miss him. All my prayers and thoughts go out to Linda and all the family. May The Lord lift you up and strengthen you at this time. We all have through our faith in Jesus the proomise that we will see Jimmy again. He will probably be on God's golf course. See you later my friend. Jerry Stroud

Condolence: Jimmy was a man of integrity with a heart filled with genuine goodness. He also had a great sense of humor, which means he was a bright guy. If you aren't smart, you can't be funny. He was both.

Condolence: My sincere sympathy to Jim's family. We were classmates at GHS and at The Citadel and served in the US Army in Germany at the same time. I have seen him a few times over the years at Citadel reunions. He was a true gentleman and I considered him a real friend. I had heard about his illness but did not know how far it had progressed. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this difficult time.
