Charles "Chuck" M. Werner Jr., 71, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

He is survived by his spouse Gale Werner, his son Trey Werner (Christy), his daughter Allie Rice (Jonathan), his sister Ann Koziol (Ed), and his grandchildren; Kurt Kenison, Jake Kenison, Chandler Werner, Blake Rice, and Joseph Rice.

Some of Chuck's accomplishments include being a three year letterman as a football player at Clemson University from '65-'69, during which time his team won three ACC titles and he was an Academic All ACC recipient. Additionally, he was a member of the Block C Club. Chuck was inducted into the Traveler's Rest Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a leader in the Banking industry, as well as an active member of Mauldin United Methodist Church. Chuck proudly served as a captain in the US Army. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed yard work, hunting, fishing and golf. Chuck's philosophy was "Life is a lot like golf".

He was preceded in death by his parents Milt and Grace Werner.

A private family church service will be held, followed by a celebration of life on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Holly Tree Country at 500 Golf Club Drive, Simpsonville, SC from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greenville Women Giving, Concerned Citizen for Animals, and Low Country Lab Rescue.
