Obituary for Jack Tillman Perry

Jack T. Perry, 72, of 421 Crosswell School Rd went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Jack was born on May 29, 1948, in Greenville, SC, a son of the late Ben and Frances Perry of Woodside. He was the husband of Betty Perry, having celebrated 27 years of marriage together. He spent most of his life in the automobile service industry and his later years as a shade tree mechanic. He loved people and helped many. He was a faithful friend and had many faithful friends. The testimony of many are that he was a good man and loved to laugh. He also loved to be involved with racing whether watching, or helping or working (spending over 40 years working at Greenville-Pickens Speedway). He spent years camping around the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Jack was a member of the Woodside Baptist Church in Greenville.

We would like to thank so many of the doctors, nurses, aides and close friends who went above and beyond their call of duty. You helped take care of him and showed him unconditional love. We can never say thank you enough.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ben Perry, and mother, Frances Perry, and two brothers, David and Ricky Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Perry; 2 sons, Tim Perry and his wife Ariel of Catawissa, PA, and Andy Stephens and his wife Paige of Greenville; and a nephew, Cory Perry and his wife Ivey of Greenville. He was the loving grandfather (“Papa Jack”) of Benjamin and Lily Perry and Weston Stephens.
