Obituary for Ann Varrone

Born October 2, 1920 as Maria Antonia Uterano, Antoinette "Ann" Varrone, of Greer, SC, experienced a full century's worth of evolution. She passed away peacefully Sunday, November 22, 2020.

One of six children, she grew up in a four-room Brooklyn apartment with a coal stove, an ice box, and a shared bathroom without running hot water. She met her husband Anthony in 1939. He was inducted in 1942 and served in the Army during World War II until 1945. They married in 1946 and enjoyed the next few years of Tony's singing career. Moving from Middle Village Queens to Long Island, they raised their three children and lived in the same house for 43 years. They retired to the Carolinas to be close to their children's families. Anthony passed away in 2000. Ann enjoyed another 20 years of good health. She is survived by her three daughters: Patricia MacMurray (Dave), Kathleen Cobb (Ed), and Annette Crotti (Jim); grandchildren: David MacMurray (Kelly), Brian MacMurray (Jackie), Joseph Khoobyar (Jessica), Maria Khoobyar, and Alexandra Crotti; and seven great-grandchildren.
