Obituary for Betty Jane Aliesch

Betty Jane Evans Aliesch (Goforth), formerly of Lisbon, 78, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on March 24, 2023 at the Hospice Care Facility of Spartanburg Regional.

Mrs. Aliesch was born on September 10, 1944, in Salem, Ohio to the late Hughie Paul and Hellen Rose (Donnalley) Evans. A 1962 graduate of Beaver Local High School. Betty was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2216 in Lisbon, Ohio and Aerie # 3997 of Hudson, Florida. Betty was a former President of Lisbon Rotary Club and proprietor of the Aliesch Senior Care Facility in Lisbon, Ohio. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon, Ohio.

Betty is survived by her children Danette Goforth (Brian) Madison of Spartanburg, South Carolina, David (Karin) Goforth of Tennessee and her 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Kaulin, and Jasmine (Jonathen) Phillips, and 3 great grandchildren, Davion Joseph, Annaleigh, and James Phillips. She is also survived by her sisters, Kay Chapman, Pam Unkefer, and Helen Finley, and a brother, Bruce Evans. Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, Hughie Paul Evans and Helen Donnelly Evans, a sister, Sheila Evans May, a brother, Hughie Paul Evans, and a sister, Diane Evans Dieringer.

No Funeral services will be held for Betty, the family is planning a possible memorial service to be held in Lisbon, Ohio later this summer.

The family would like to thank the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice in Spartanburg for their generosity and care during a very difficult time.
