Obituary for Betty Jean Carter
Betty J. Carter, 89, native of Greenville, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 22, 2020. She was born August 28, 1931 to the late Thelma and James Davis.
Betty owned and operated B & R Variety Shop and spent countless weekends setting up at flea markets with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors and going fishing. She loved everybody she met, but her greatest passion was her family.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Carter, Betty is survived by their three sons: Ronnie (Deirdre), Tony (Suzanne), and Ricky (Cynthia); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great greats; and her loving Yorkie, Bubba - all whom loved her dearly.
She will be remembered for always wanting to look pretty in her jewelry and makeup, and she will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Friday, November 27, 2020 at Forestville Baptist Church, 2 Old McElhaney Rd., Greenville, SC 29617. A graveside funeral will immediately follow, 11:00 AM in the church cemetery.
