Obituary for Betty Jean Grubb

Betty Jean Mann Grubb, 71, of Laurens, SC, went to be with the Lord Thursday December 17, 2020. She was born in Franklinville, NC to the late Stella Lucille Kindley and Roy Wesley Edwards, whom she both adored.

Betty enjoyed shopping, visiting friends and loved ones, traveling, and dining out. She had a wonderful loving smile and a heart of gold. Betty was the type of person who would give someone the shirt off her back. She was a Christian and loved God and Jesus very much. When she got saved, giving her heart and soul to God and Jesus, she lived for them daily. "Jesus has me now and I am never letting him go ever." She joined Welcome Baptist Church this year and admired Preacher Don very much. She loved how he preached the word of God and loved her church family. Betty had such a love for life. She loved people and animals, and always gave and loved from her heart. Her love for her family was her greatest joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Clyde Mann Jr.; second husband, Frank Lander Grubb Jr.; and brothers, Wesley and Donald Edwards - all of whom she loved greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Mann; her son, Wyman Clyde Mann, whom she nicknamed "Boy;" her grandchildren, whom she thought the world: Elanna Marie Braggs (Nick), Dallion Renodrake Mann, and Tyler Roberts; her great-grand baby, to whom her heart fell in love, Lilly Elizabeth Japart; sister, Dorothy Leigh Edwards; stepdaughter, Libby Grubb; stepson, Landy Grubb, Jr.; many nieces (Nancy, she called and spoke with daily), nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and countless friends and loved ones.

Betty was the most amazing mother anyone could have or ask for. She was the best Mama, Nana, Great Nana, sister, aunt, and cousin. She still had so much to live for, but God had other plans. The sweetest lady one could ever meet, her smile could make a dreary, rainy day bright. She will be greatly missed and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Welcome Baptist Church, 1825 Hwy 14, Laurens, SC 29360.
