Obituary for Billy Childress

Billy Childress 71, of Piedmont, SC, widow of Jennifer Childress, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pelzer, SC to the late Jack Spencer Childress and Margaret Chasteen Childress Looper.

Billy is survived by his daughter Amanda Childress Collins; grand children, Breanna Dyer, Kaitlin Dyer, and Adam Dyer; great grand children, Bentley McWhite, Jayce Riley McWhite; brothers, Bobby Childress (Randee), Sammy Childress (Jo), Ted Childress (Sherry), Joe Childress (Rhonda), Tommy Looper (Nancy); sister in law Faye Childress and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Billy was preceded in death by his sisters Jackie Childress Owens, Shelby Looper Garrison; brothers, Roy Childress and Pete Looper.

Billy retired from BILO after working many years as a truck driver. Served our country in the Air Force. He'll be remembered the most for his long stories, love of music and fishing. Billy loved his family and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 3pm at Palmetto Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 4pm.
