She is survived by her loving husband, Winston Boyes; her son, Marvin Boyes (Misty Yancey); her brother, Michael Salyer (Judith Kempton Salyer); grandson Griffin Boyes; step-granddaughters Makayla Dawn King (Justin) and Kierstan Jade Yancey; her step great-granddaughter, Laynie Rose King; along with other adoring relatives, Aunt Dorothy Salyer Moore: nephew, Michael David Salyer: niece, JoAnn Zarkadoulas-Salyer: grand-nephews, Michael Salyer and Christopher Salyer, and other grand-nephews and nieces; and her dear friends, Melody Meisenbach and Nikki Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Salyer; and her dear friend, Sheryl Putnam.
Carol most enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and beloved pets. Some of her favorite activities were road trips and camping. She loved crystal and rock collecting. When the great outdoors were not an option, she enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
In one word, Carol could be described as loving. She helped found the Community Christmas Project in her home town of Union City, Michigan, distributing clothes and toys to families in need during the holidays. She served as Village Treasurer for many years. Upon relocating to South Carolina, she worked as a marketing and sales representative for the South Carolina Education Lottery until her retirement. Her friends and family will always remember her wisdom and sharp sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greenville SC Humane Society.
