Charles Jones, 89, widower of Susan Hopkins Jones, of Greenville, SC went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2023. He was the son of the late Joe Seaph Jones and Nancy Garrett Jones.

Charles loved playing the guitar when he was younger. He taught his children about life through sports, construction, gardening and hard work. Buck will be remembered for being a brick mason. After retirement he worked at YMCA Camp Greenville and Furman University. He was a descendant of Solomon Jones “The Roadbuilder.” He loved his family and his farm. He loved to tell stories of his experience in the Navy.

He is survived by his son, Charles Buck Jones, Jr.(Tina Blanco Jones); daughters, Nancy Jones Campbell (Paul A. Campbell) and Janice Jones Cothran; sister, Jean Jones Hudson; grandchildren, Melissa Jennings, Madison Campbell, Sophia Jones, Jordan Campbell, Gabbi Jones, Izzi Jones and Charles Jones, III; great grandchildren, Kayla Santora, Courtney Page and Aubrey Hutsell; great great grandchild, Grayson Santora.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his grandsons, Jon Wilson and Solomon Jones.
