Obituary for Charles Edward Walker Young

Charles Edward Walker Young, 79, of Easley, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020. He was born in Greenville, the son of the late Rush Walker Young and Jo Glenn Jones Young.

Charles enjoyed gold panning, politics, music, computers and learning how things worked and how to fix things. He was a classic car enthusiast and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed watching birds as well. He will be remembered for being mechanically inclined, having a great sense of humor, being quite the prankster, and his daily battle with the squirrels. He loved sharing his knowledge and passion for things and teaching others.

After Charles was in the Airforce, he worked at Saco-Lowell for over 30 years. Of those 30 years, some was working as a service technician which allowed him to travel all over the world, but he was always glad to be back home with his girls.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Ducker Young; daughters: Missi Cromer (Michael) of Easley, SC, Christie Wheeler of Taylors, SC, and Brandy Galloway (Logan) of Taylors, SC; sister, Readona Gallagher; brother, Ronnie "Joe" Young; and special life-long friends Jerry Pearson and Gerald Sons.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ramsey Creek Preserve, 111 West Main St., Westminster, SC 29693, www.memorialecosystems.com.
