Obituary for Clifford Eugene Ward
Clifford Eugene "Gene" Ward passed away on February 10, 2021, at his home in Greenville, SC.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia Ward, his two children, Jerri and Mike (Janelle), and his three grandchildren, Amanda, John, and Rebecca. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a faithful follower of Christ and a gifted teacher of God's Word. He served in several churches during his lifetime as music director, deacon, and teacher. He also served as a short term missionary in Poland.
Gene was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on February 15, 1933. After serving in the U.S. Army for nine years he completed a degree at THE University of Alabama. He then taught at Lanier High School for many years while also directing music at various local churches.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 14th, 2:00pm at Edwards Road Baptist Church. The sanctuary will allow for social distancing and masks are recommended. The service will be live-streamed and recorded on the Edwards Road YouTube channel for those who aren't able to attend.
Those desiring may make memorials to the Mission Fund at Edward Road Baptist Church.
