Obituary for Courtney Elaine Turner (Styers)

Courtney Elaine Turner (Styers), 39, passed away at home on Oct 10, 2019.

I wrote this obituary myself and therefore will share briefly what this life has meant to me. I am survived by husband, Brad, and our ray of light daughter, Nola Eppes. I also leave behind my parents, Joni and Gene, and my sister and brother in law, Erin and Matt West. Surviving as well are my niece Harper and nephew Miles, my maternal grandmother, Janie, and my aunt, uncle and cousin, Susan, Bill, and Greg Swanson. Many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends continuously enriched my life. I am also shockingly survived by Keith Richards! Have you seen him recently? This is hard to believe.

I lived my life finding humor in often humorless experiences. Many years of illness provided life lessons that I lovingly shared hoping to help others. My bucket list was short: to experience love and motherhood. I succeeded in both with Brad and Nola. I consider Nola to be my greatest accomplishment. I hope for Nola to know what tremendous joy she brought to my life, and to the lives of everyone she meets. I will never find enough words to express the pride I have in being Nola’s mother.

A celebration of my life is planned for TBD. I ask that you please consider donations to the following charities to honor my family in their courage having cared for me on this wild journey of life. And also while laughter can be the best medicine, it cannot yet cure disease. Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, American Cancer Society, Let There Be Mom.

I’m sorry I had to leave a little earlier than I anticipated but my love remains in all of our shared memories. Hugs and Kisses.
