David Lee Caldwell, fondly known as "Lee," age 83, of Greenville, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2023. Lee was born and raised in Meriwether County in Alvaton, Georgia.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Anna Dean Wilson Caldwell, his sons James (Kathy) and Michael (Vonda), and his cherished grandchildren Logan, Jacob, Caleb, and Lee. He also leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Chance, who held a very special place in his heart.

Born to James and Lillian Jarrell Caldwell, Lee was preceded in death by his parents, a son John Lawrence Caldwell, and brothers Ted Caldwell, Johnny Caldwell, and James Caldwell Jr. He was also preceded in death by his beloved Father and Mother-in-Law, DeWitt and Doris Wilson, with whom he was a wonderful Son-in-Law to and deeply loved by.

A loving and faithful spouse, Lee's devotion to Anna Dean was unwavering, leaving a legacy of enduring love and commitment. He was a man of integrity, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lee will be remembered as an honest, hardworking man who dedicated over 50 years to the plastic industries. His commitment and dedication led him to retire as the Vice President of Manufacturing for Mesa Industries. His service extended beyond his professional life, as he proudly served in the Navy. Lee was a proud member of Riverside Baptist Church in Greer, SC, where his faith played a central role in his life.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to caretakers Elizabeth Vaughn and Marion Lang from Always Best Care for their dedicated support in Lee’s final days. They would also like to give a special thank you to Sheena Referente, NP, with Prisma Palliative Care who provided outstanding care and compassion towards Lee and Anna Dean.

A private visitation and service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens on January 11, 2024, to celebrate Lee's life and bid him farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Area Agency on Aging at 30 Century Circle, Greenville, SC 29607.

As we mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, we find solace in the memories and the legacy of love that Lee leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
