Obituary for David Wayne Higgs
David Wayne Higgs of Laurens, South Carolina, was born November 8, 1960 in Fort Eustis, Virginia to Trula Mae Wells Higgs and the late Doyle W. Higgs, and was called home by the Lord April 22, 2021.
David was a hard working man. He enjoyed working with his hands as a gifted and skilled mechanic and truck driver. There wasn't anything he couldn't do.
In addition to his mother, David leaves behind his beloved children: John Alan Higgs, David Ryan Higgs, Brandon Maxwell Higgs, and Lauren Alexandra Shewski-Higgs; grandchildren: Sean, Christiane, Brianna, Christopher, Carson, and Carter; brothers, Rickey Lee Higgs (Theresa), and Paul Jeffrey Higgs (Tricia); sisters, Lisa Rene Higgs and Sherry Ann Higgs-Anderson (Gregory); many adored aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and the mothers of his children, Lisa LaPorte and Debbie Williams.
David was very happy that he recently reconnected with his first wife, Linda, and was thankful she took care of him as his health declined.
A Celebration of his Life will be held 3:00 - 5:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org in his honor.
