David Louis Shaffer, 76, of Simpsonville, SC, formally of San Antonio, TX went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 4, 2020. David was born in Paola, KS to his parents the late David Loyd Shaffer and Marian Mae Hughes Shaffer.

He was survived by his loving wife Pamela Bingenheimer Shaffer; two sons, Michael Shaffer (Brenda), Travis Shaffer (Arlene); daughter, Michelle Shaffer; sister, Julia Ann Hurt; brother, Ben Shaffer (Pat), Bert Shaffer (Linda); grandchildren, Apollo Shaffer, Alexander Shaffer, Andrew Shaffer, Patrick Haley, Logan Shaffer, & Austin Shaffer; Great grandchildren, Alivia Shaffer; other family members, William & Missy Bingenheimer, Mark & Brooke Bingengeimer; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.


In addition to David's parents he is preceded in death by his in laws Paul & Sara Bingenheimer; brother in law, Dorman Hurt; nephew, Bradley Hurt.

David loved golfing, board games, cards, Dominoes, San Antonio Spurs, and NBA games. He was well traveled by visiting all 50 states in the United Sates as well as internationally. David will be remembered for his compassion to take care of others, his witty sense of humor, his big bear hugs, and most of all his love for his family.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 9, 2020, at 1pm at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 1420 Neely Ferry Road, Simpsonville SC 29680.
