Obituary for Donald Richard McClain
Donald "Don" Richard McClain, 76, of Greenville, passed away on January 13, 2021. He is predeceased by his parents, Rupert and Elizabeth McClain, and his brother, Douglas McClain.
Don is survived by his wife, Dr. Lucille McClain, and his brother, Max McClain (Jackie). He is also survived by his son, Doug McClain (Melissa), and his daughter, Stacy McClain Whitmire (Tim). He was a grandfather, Papa, to Matthew McClain, Patrick McClain, and Timmy Whitmire.
Don graduated from Greenville Senior High School and Erskine College in Due West, SC. After graduation from college, he spent four years in the US Navy. He spent his career as a sales representative to several furniture companies. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his passion for golf, and his love for family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 429 North Main St., Suite 3, Greenville, SC 29601.
