Donna Jean Downing, 77, of Spartanburg county, passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Emmagean Cave.

Donna‘s passions have always been the simple things in life. Spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling with her husband, grown children and much adored granddaughter, gardening and curling up with a good book. Through the years, she has been an active member of her beloved church, Pacolet Baptist. She had many cherished memories with Pastor Chad Bowen and the entire congregation. They truly were her extended family.

Donna was preceded in death by her brother, James Franklin Cave. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ralph Downing; daughters, Sherri Helman and Wendy Purgai; son-in-laws, Douglas Helman and Frank Purgai; grandchildren: Jasmine Bernal, Blaine Purgai and Hunter Purgai, great grandchild Ricardo Bernal the third, and grandson in-law Ricardo Bernal Jr.
