Obituary for Doris Eleanor Moutrey (Spiess)
Doris Eleanor Moutrey, 90, of Simpsonville, passed away on Monday, March 30th, 2020. She was the daughter of Alvie and Eleanor Spiess.
She is survived by her son, David M. Moutrey(Sheri); daughters, Diane Locotosh and Karen Milne(Clark); grandchildren, Patrick(Loretta) Locotosh, Christopher(Amanda) Locotosh, Tana(Steven) Martin, Abraham Milne, Sarah(Stephanie) Milne, Jenny Taylor, Christine(Lucas) Rokos, Alex Moutry and Eric Harris; great-grandchildren, Zoe Locotosh, Olivia Locotosh, Vivian Locotosh, Coleman Martin, Sydney Martin, Madison Rokos, and Jackson Rokos.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin C. Moutrey; brother, Lloyd C. Spiess and son-in-law, Donald Locotosh.
Doris enjoyed knitting, quilting, playing scrabble and bingo, but playing pinochle was her favorite activity. She was the founding member of the Ruth Society of Immanuel Lutheran Church Mokena, Sunday School Teacher and long time member of the altar guild at Immanuel Mokena. She enjoyed traveling/RVing with her husband and family for many years.
She went to work in 1959 and was a secretary at Lincoln Way(Central) Community High School and at McDermott, Will, and Emery in Chicago. She retired in 1991
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on April 4, 2020, https://www.immanuellutheranchurch.com.
Place of Internment: Sklyine Memorial Park Monee, Illinois will be done later summer we hope.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Immanuel Lutheran Church Mokena Illinois Organ refurbishment fund or the American Heart Association.
