Obituary for Eleanor Johnston
Eleanor Mae Johnston, 99, wife of the late Robert Johnston, IV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at her home.
Born in Newton, MA, a daughter of the late Eugene Asa Phelps and the late Florence Fanny Phelps, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed traveling, playing games, car rides, and reading. She will be remembered for her kindness to all and the love she had for her family and friends.
Surviving are sons, Robert Johnston, V (Lisa) and Donald J. Johnston (Sheri); daughters, Elizabeth A. Guntsch (Fred) and Marcia E. Johnston; grandchildren, F. Thomas Guntsch, Kimberly H. LaFrance (David), Robert M. Guntsch (Sam), Christine E.L. Street (Mike) Joshua J. Johnston (Mary), Jacob Johnston (Annie), and Eric Johnston; great-grandchildren, Kayla LaFrance, Skyler LaFrance, Jax Johnston, and Griffin Johnston; and special friends, Linda Crane and her Oceanport United Methodist Church family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Heckenliable; a brother, Robert Phelps; a grandson, John Paul Guntsch; and her special friend, Vivian Crane.
The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
