Obituary for Evelyn Taylor (Freeman)
Evelyn Freeman Davis Taylor, 87, formerly of 405 Rita Street in Mauldin, SC, peacefully passed away
Monday, June 22, 2020, at the home of her daughter, Sherry Bagwell in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Wilton T. and Pauline Lesley Freeman. She was
member of Eastlan Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband, Charles E. Davis and her second
husband, Charles (Jack) Taylor; her son, Timothy Jason Davis; and, Thelma Smith, Cody Davis, Herbert
Freeman, Clayton Freeman, Lesley Freeman, and Myra Smith.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Phil Edward Davis (Susan); a daughter, Sherry Davis Bagwell (John); a brother,
Rodney Freeman (O’Dell); and four sisters, Nora McCraw, Margie Jones (Raymond), Joan Perzak (Ted),
Carol Satterfield (Gerald); grandchildren, Carson Gage Davis and Natalie Veronica Payne; great-grandchildren: Tanner Kimpton Payne and Luke Christopher Payne .
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 1pm at Graceland West Cemetery, 4814 White Horse Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn’s memory to Roper St. Francis Hospice,
Tobias Gadson Blvd, Suite 109B, Charleston, SC 29407.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of Roper Hospice for their amazing
care of Evelyn Davis Taylor.
