Obituary for Gene W Harp
Gene W. Harp, 84, of Lyman, SC went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2020. He was the son of the late Chester Harp and Cordelia Fryman Harp Schultz.
He is survived by his spouse Ann Harp; daughters, Lisa Harp Martin (Robert), Tammy Harp Templeton (Glenn); a sister, Joan Hobday; grandchildren, Sean Brummer, Robble Martin, Kelsey Templeton; great grandchildren, Joshua Dixon, Charlie Brooke Martin, Gavin Brummer; a dear niece, Linda Ross; and a special friend, Charlie Haselwood.
Gene is predeceased by a son that passed away at birth; a brother Kenneth (Corky) Harp.
Gene's love for baseball started early in life. He was signed by the Cincinnati Reds in 50's and went on to play fast pitch softball. He also umpired till age 83. He was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame in Kentucky in 1983. He was fun to be around and loved to be a jokester.
A memorial service is to be determined by the family in Lexington, Kentucky.
