Obituary for Gordon Carl Ford
Gordon C. Ford, 86, of Taylors, SC, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Ina and Casper Ford.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Angela Ford; sons, Greg (Sandy) and Jimmy Ford; stepson, Chris McLaughlin (Hope); stepdaughter, Robin Foster (Robert); grandchildren: Katy and Brad Franklin, Coty Ford (Stacy), Christy Howell (Mike), Tony Hall, Kyle Foster, and Kayla Taylor (Brandon); great-grandchildren: Kayden Franklin, Dalton Ford, Patelyn Crawford, Brittany Lawrence, and Bradleigh Burgess; five great great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Thacker; and his beloved English Springer Spaniel fur baby, Coop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Franklin; and brother, Jimmy Ford.
Gordon enjoyed a successful career in aircraft interior maintenance. In his downtime, he was outdoorsman who relished in hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He was always willing to help anyone and everyone in need. Gordon was a happy soul with a witty sense of humor who always wore a smile on his face. He touched many lives, was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2022 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
