Obituary for Helen Markle

Helen J. Markle, 81, of Greer, SC, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Sloniker of Kalamazoo, MI.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Markle; two sons, Duane Markle (Marsha), and Scott Markle (Joanne); a daughter, Sue Markle Lawrick (Greg); grandsons, Robert Markle (Ashley), Nicholas Lawrick, and Stephen Lawrick.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Craig Sloniker.

Helen was a very hardworking woman who loved to clean and organize her home and garage. She enjoyed working in her yard and watching her flowers bloom. Helen loved animals of all kinds, traditional country music, and going to garage sales on Saturday mornings with her daughter. She will be remembered for her patience and kindness. Most of all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends.

A celebration of Helen's life will be held in Kalamazoo, MI this fall.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.

Very sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. She was a wonderful and caring individual and was everyone’s friend. We must remember that she is no longer suffering and has gone to beautiful place. We will all miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love you,
