Obituary for James Michael Curtis

James M. Curtis, 79, of Fountain Inn, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born in Mount Kisco, New York on April 25, 1943 to the late Angelina Lee Buffoni and William Joseph Curtis.

James (also lovingly called Jimmy or Jimbo or especially PapaC) will always be remembered for his love of laughter and for never meeting a stranger. He was many things to many people, but he was known best for being a clown....literally. Jimmy was an electrician/lineman by trade and a professional clown by desire. He loved to bring a smile to the faces of those young and old and always had a joke to share or a poem to write. He enjoyed telling stories, making balloon animals, working and playing hard, and entertaining his family and friends.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Curtis; sons, Jamie Curtis (and wife, Tiffany) and Brian Curtis (and wife, Jennifer); grandchildren: Kendall, Bayley, Brenna and Erin Curtis; and countless friends and loved ones in Florida, Georgia, and New York.

A Celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Coosa United Methodist Church, 767 Mulky Gap Rd., Blairsville, GA 30512. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Red Bird Mission, a ministry Jimmy was heavily involved with through Coosa United Methodist Church in Blairsville, GA and was so near and dear to his heart, at www.rbmission.org/donate
