James Lee Laur, 77, of Pickens, SC, went to be with the Lord Wednesday February 26, 2020, after being sick and in the hospital for several months. James was born in Greenville, SC, to the late Nick and late Kathrine Laur. He is survived by is daughters, Toni Waters, Susan Belue, & Wanda Motes; brother, Rocky Laur; sister, Ann Laur Young; grandchildren Bobby Waters, Karolina Waters, Mike Waters, Stephen Waters, Samantha Waters, Sharon Culpepper, Kristi Culpepper, Tommy Lee Culpepper, Ashley Motes, & Nicole Ward; nineteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Laur; daughter, Cathy Ann Laur; brother, Toni Laur; grandson, Christopher Lee Berdiner.

James loved watching football, hunting and was a gun collector. He was a wonderful loving husband, great father, grand father, brother and son. He was loving, kind, and always giving to others. He loved and enjoyed teaching his grandkids about firearms / safety, hunting and fishing. He was a true family man.

The family will receive friends Monday, at 12 noon at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607. A service will be held at 1:00 pm at Palmetto Mortuary. The Burial will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to Tabernacle Children's Home.
