James Andrew Potts Jr. of Greer, SC, on January 24, 2021, is now peacefully at rest. He was 51.
From a young child into high school, James played football. He was a member of the Travelers Rest High School FFA. He worked most of his life as a mechanical engineer until becoming a stay at home dad. James knew he hit the jackpot when he fell in love with and married his Canadian wife, Margaret.
James will always be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a trusted brother and friend who was always there to listen and brighten lives with endless dad jokes. He enjoyed PTA volunteering, which he did as often as he could. He appreciated a good friendly debate and had a deep love for his country. James enjoyed casino and arcade excitement, car repair videos, and watching NASCAR. He was known for being sharp-witted and keenly observant, often noticing minor oversights of idjits.
His unwavering strength and courage during his long battle with Crohn’s disease and other serious illnesses made him a superhero in the eyes of many.
James will be deeply missed; forever in our thoughts, always in our hearts.
