Obituary for Jewel Diane Drake
Jewel "Diane" Davis Drake, 71, of Fountain Inn, SC, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was born in Greenville, SC to the late Helen Swanger and Arvil Buford Davis.
Diane is survived by her husband of 55 years, Hugh M. Drake; daughter, Melissa D. Drake (Brian Shelton); son, Gary M. Drake (Shonta); grandchildren: Gregory Lanier (Heather), Joshua Masters, Brooke Lacy (Dylan), Tyler Drake (Presley), Ashton Drake, Kelsey McCarson (Hunter), and Pressley and Larkin Shelton; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Alan B. Davis (Rhonda). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nita Stanley; and brother, Roger Davis.
Diane displayed a constant unconditional love as she assumed the role of caregiver in many people's lives. She loved helping others, especially her family and friends. In her spare time, Diane enjoyed fishing. She also served as the First Lady of the Bridge to Grace.
A Celebration of Diane's Life will be held, drop-in style, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Bridge to Grace, 517 W. Nelson Rd., Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022 at the same location. Burial and committal will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miracle Hill Ministries, www.miraclehill.org; Connie Maxwell Children's Ministries, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646, www.conniemaxwell.com; or Bridge to Grace.
