Obituary for John Douglas Brown
John Douglas Brown, 85, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2020.
John is survived by his two sons, Mark Brown and Matthew Brown (Deborah); and three daughters: Betty Lim (Bill), Pam Fruchey (Randy), and Beth Hawthorne (Rodger); eight siblings: Larry Bedwell, Billy J. Bedwell, Richard Bedwell, Randy Bedwell, Carol Smith, Alice Bedwell, Karen Love, and Sharon Thompson; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Elaine Shortt.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Iona L. Brown; two daughters, Paula Smith, and Trina Joy Brown; and two siblings, Betty J. Robertson and Tom Bedwell.
John loved attending grandkids sporting events, baseball, football, cars and watching westerns movies. He will be remembered for being a faithful long time member and employee of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM November 9, 2020 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607; a graveside service will follow 1:00 PM at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Rd., Piedmont, SC 29673.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WTBI Radio, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
