Obituary

John R Fehsenfeld, 71, of Greenville, son of the late Del & Dorothy Fehsenfeld went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2019.

He is survived by wife, Lynda Fehsenfeld; sons, Scott Fehsenfeld (wife: Anessa),
Jamie Fehsenfeld, Joel Fehsenfeld (wife: Melissa); daughters, Mindy Fehsenfeld, Chara Harris (husband: Scott), and Megan McGuire (husband: Dyson); sisters, Rachel Carpenter (husband: Ken), and Mary Dickie (husband: Robert); granchildren, Rebekah Fehsenfeld, Tyler Fehsenfeld, Hudson Fehsenfeld, Finley McGuire, and Audie McGuire; special friends, Terence and Paul Aikman.

John is preceded in death by his brother, Del Fehsenfeld II.

John enjoyed a variety of hobbies from watching a good movie, buffets, reading books, listening to southern gospel music to putting a hard puzzle together. He made a habit of helping people, whether giving the shirt off his back or something as simple as a Chick-fil-A coupon. John refereed multiple sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer, and baseball), encouraging kids, parents and coaches alike to enjoy the game. Kansas City sports teams retained his allegiance. John was a simple but hard working man, who loved his family, friends and beloved dog Happy. He shared his sense of humor with everyone and took great pride in beating everyone to wish one happy birthday. He was a man of faith anchored to the hope of a life with Jesus Christ beyond this world. He will be remembered as a great father, friend, neighbor, citizen and employee.

Thanks to his many friends who came to visit at the hospital or hospice the last weeks he was with us. Thanks to Open Arms Hospice who made his last days memorable and comfortable.

The family will be hosting a visitation for friends on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church- 5020 Old Spartanburg Rd, Taylors, SC 29687 from 10:00-10:30am, followed by a service at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that any contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church.

We were so fortunate to have John & Linda as our Youth Pastors in Charleston SC many years ago. The memories of those days have flooded back this morning as I learned of Johns passing. His smile was contagious. He loved his bright colored sports jackets! I am a much better person today because of the time that he invested in me. Heaven gained a special one.
