Obituary for Julia Elizabeth Dorsey (Godfrey)
Julia Elizabeth (Lib) Dorsey, 83, of Travelers Rest went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Julia Godfrey. She was the mother of Nancy Pittman (Truman), Russell Dorsey II (Lisa), Roger Dorsey, Deborah Cline, Michael Dorsey (Veronica), Loretta Gouge; grandmother to thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
She will be joining her husband, Russell Earl Dorsey, Sr with their Lord in heaven; son, Danny Dorsey; siblings Joyce Watkins, Betty Roach, and James Godfrey; grandchildren, Jonathan Gouge and Chrystal Dorsey.
Lib Dorsey and her husband were members of Freedom Baptist Church. When not talking about her church and family she loved completing word searches and listening to her tapes of the Melodiaires Quartet singing and watching Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Please be in prayer for the family as they participate in a celebration of life Monday, May 4th at Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest, SC at 10 am. The Rev. Mike Stratton officiating.
