Kimber led a life well lived...from time working in Dallas, TX to New York City to South Carolina. In the printing business, as an early IT trainer, to a Realtor and Broker in Charge in Real Estate. He was a gradate of Middlebury College and was an officer in the US Navy on a wooden hulled minesweeper in Japanese waters. Kim spent many years in Swarthmore, PA where he helped raise their family. In 1997 and newly single he decided to buy a sailboat and sail the Atlantic Coast between Portland, ME and Seabrook Island, SC. During one trip his boat caught fire in the Chesapeake Bay and he had to have it brought overland to Seabrook. Shortly thereafter he decided to go online to Match.com to search for a second mate. He found one in Sherry McFarlane who was living in Mexico...many emails and a visit to Mexico brought Sherry to Seabrook to join him. After a few years they were married on the Seabrook beach. The following years saw them working in real estate on Kiawah/Seabrook Islands selling resort properties.
They managed to tour over 50 countries in their 17 years together! Kimber and Sherry moved to Greenville, SC full time in the summer of 2019 and he continued to work in real estate until his passing.
