Obituary for Kristine Michelle O'Connor (Steuer)
On Sunday, December 11, 2022, Kristine Michelle O'Connor (Steuer), loving wife, stepmom, daughter, sister, and friend, courageously ended her battle with cancer, and went to be with the Lord. She was 46 years old.
Kristi was born on March 18th, 1976 to James Steuer and Joanne Kawa-Donaski in Pontiac Michigan. She graduated from Walled Lake Central High School in 1994.
Kristi met her husband, Terry O'Connor, in 2000 when they worked together at Meijer. They married on October 2nd, 2004. They recently celebrated their 18th year of marriage together. Kristi gained four step-children, whom she loved like they were her own. Kristi and Terry moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2014, where she began working at BMW until her diagnosis.
She was an avid animal lover who enjoyed spending her free time relaxing by the pool with her husband, and crazy pooldays with her grandchildren, crafting, creating art with wood, gardening, cooking, and spending summers camping in Munising with Terry and her step-children. She was a fiercely loyal friend, outspoken and passionate, the life of any party, and wouldn't hesitate to go out of her way to help the people she loved. She was unapologetically herself, and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Even through her battle with cancer, she was the epitome of strength and positivity, and never gave up her fight.
Kristi was preceded in death by her father, James Steuer; both her maternal and paternal grandparents; her uncle, Bill Kawa; and her beloved dog, Zoey.
She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Terrence O'Connor; her mother, Joanne and husband Frank Donaski; her siblings, Jimmy Steuer, Shayna Vincent, Matthew Vincent, and Alex Donaski; her step-children and their spouses, Michael and wife Katie O'Connor, Kristen and husband Taylor Shorey, Jacob O'Connor and girlfriend Monica, and Lucas O'Connor; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Bentley, Finley, Rowan, Millie, Milo, and Cody; her aunts and uncle, Karen Caldwell, Katherine Kawa, Linda Belbeck, and Michael Kawa; close friends, Jamie and Billy, Tracie and Kevin, Becky, Michelle, Lesley, Kathy and many more adored family and friends. She was loved by all.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at Grace Church Spartanburg Campus, 501 Willis Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301, Conducted by Rev. Nathan Whipple. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 P.M. leading into the service at 2:00 P.M.
